DD1 has been unwell with flu like virus since weds last week. She has ear ache, temp, and generally sad
DD2 has had runny nose and been a bit sleepy, but ok until today. She has gucky eyes and very sad
I think i rememeber reading somewhere that breast milk is good for conjuctivitis, is it true? She her eyes with expressed bm? Gonna try and get both dd's to gp tomorrow, but dont think it warrents trip to emergency doc.
Thannks

Yes, a little squirt into the eye works a treat. You can also very gently massage just under the corner of her eye with your little finger incase her tear duct is blocked.

Don't forget NHS Direct if you are worried.

im not worried, just tried and a little stressed!
Thanks

And very weak chamomile tea can be used on cotton wool to bathe the eye. Remember its one piece of cotton wool, one sweep of the eye, a fresh piece every time. Hope they are all better soon.

foxythesnowman · 26/12/2007 12:40

sorry if that sounded patronising

lisad123 · 26/12/2007 12:43

I dont have tea here, well i have tea but no chamomile tea. and no worried i know about one cotton wool ball per wipe

Ta, bit tired here too! I would clean the eye with some cooled boiled water then a squirt of bm and a wee massage of the tear duct. HTH

Poor little thing... I used to drip breast milk on their gungy eyes- don't know if it was that which cleared it up or not- but it didn't get any worse.
