Anyone have the recalled Allergan textured implants? Are you getting them out?

I had mine done as second set in 2014 and last year went to my GP with a flat patch and pain. I had an ultrasound which showed both implants are folding in.
I was researching and come across the fact that several Allergan textured implants have been recalled and taken off the market where they are causing a type of lymphoma (BIA ALCL) breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma which can be undetectable until the capsules are removed and tested.

Now allergan are not recommending removal, not offering to pay anything or take responsibilty and the NHS wont do anything. I have been told because my implants are so large (I'm a pretty big lass!) that I would need to have a lift to not be left deformed. A bargain at 12k!!! Yea, not going to happen.

I was curious if anyone else has these and what you are, or aren't doing?

Hello you posted re your Allergan implants back in January. I have the textured implants, also put in as a replacement set in 2014..by a so called highly esteemed surgeon who neglected to mention ALCL in "informed" consent process. I found out early onI had put these possibly toxic killers inside me and have worried ever since, spending a load more having checks etc. 8 years on really pondering explant. My issue is zero breast tissue of my own so I will look deformed afterwards hence the hesitation. Hope you remain well...Did you explant? What is your experience ? Hope you don't mind me joining this conversation so late.

Hi there. That was my post back in January under a different username. I have not had them explanted as simply don’t have the money.
I know I will look deformed as I had no tissue either. I wore a AA cup and now wear an F but I am a big frame at 5ft8 and a size 16 so I don’t look like Jordan!!

i have contacted multiple surgeons asking if they can do enbloc removal as I do not want to waste time or money being told they can’t as each consult is around £300 so can’t do that just to be told we can’t or won’t do it.
one wouldn’t consider as would leave me deformed. He would only take me on if I wanted a lift too and to be prepared for a 10k plus bill.

Im in pain daily with them but kind of accepted I’m a ticking time bomb and have to take that risk with no help available.

Hi thanks for replying. I'm so sorry you are in pain, the situation is a scandal, these pompous surgeons deciding to use these harmful implants knowing of the growing risks and not informing us.
I have also visited surgeons who tell me I should leave the capsules in if I explant because they are submuscular and I am slight so removing the capsule is too risky. Caught between a rock and a hard place, wanting them out - frightened how I'll look (I'm petite, currently a 34B, previously totally flat so will be left with 2 hideous empty sacks) realising if capsules are left in the risks may remain. Horrible dilemma.

I wish you well and if you want to sound off or share info etc I'm here.
