Usually they will leave you in a support / splint / cast and wait a bit longer giving your body a chance to heal it.
Hopefully they will give you a prescription for pain relief and anti-inflammatories and tell you to try and rest it (hahaha with kids at home) where possible, but they should also refer you for physio after a while to get movement and strength back in the wrist.
If it hasn't healed after 6 months to a year (which can happen in rare cases) they may decide to fix it with a Herbert screw to pin the bits back together. This is usually done as day case surgery under a regional block anaesthetic rather than GA, but this is done as a last resort as your body should do a much better job given time.
