for 2 yrs now i have been having issues with my copd and excessive phlegm, i feel most of the time that im drowning in the stuff esp if i try to lay down, so sleep at about 60 degrees in bed (sleep! if you can call it that!) im lucky to get about 4 hrs rest a night for the continuous coughing, its a high pitched cough constant wretching, pain in my stomach like i have been kicked. then i feel the stuff move up my throat and occasionally it gets as far as my toncils, but it never comes out! im up and down all night running too the bathroom praying that this is going to be the time i can finally start to breathe again, but nope, and then the whole thing starts again with my coughing.

ive never been one that could stick my fingers in my mouth and make myself sick, it was always something that had to happen on its own. so bearing that in mind any suggestions on how to get this shite out of my chest please

That sounds miserable for you.
A relative, a few years ago, was prescribed mucodyne by the GP to help bring up phlegm. Would it be worth asking your respiratory nurse, consultant or the GP if they could prescribe it for you?

That’s awful! Have you spoken to your GP? I would do that and see if you could be referred for respiratory physio to help.
Does anything like steam help to,loosen it up so you can shift it?
