Any experience of benign growths?

My DF has growths on pancreas. He had a biopsy which came back inconclusive which he plans to have done again. He’s had a general ct so need to check if any spread (my DM literally died last week so ‘forgot’ to ask at last appointment with all that is going on. He plans to sell up and move closer to us but he said ‘I don’t know how long I have left.’ It is all incredibly sad but my question is if any elderly people have experienced growths in pancreas which are benign so we plan some sort of future for him by getting settled closer to us so he has a reason to keep going? He has lost a lot of weight. In the first place it was intentional weight loss as dr had told him he was prediabetic so he needed to lose some as he was overweight. Now he is going a bit too skinny and can’t work out of due to stress of dm dying or if due to it being cancer. Dr can’t offer any treatment options until they know it is cancer.
