Quick question about Ds1's scratched face, poss. infected?

A little boy in his class (I think SN?) scratched Ds's face today, according to Ds. Nobody mentioned it to me, it is a nasty scratch though, about 5mm by maybe 4mm

The area round it is red and it has a scab on it. I don't think it was cleaned at the time, and the boy used his fingernail, I cannot gauge the circumstances but Ds often has play scraps in the playground, so possibly 'asked for it' as it were (they are four)

I just wanted to ask if I need be worried, I know you have to be with bites, but it is quite a deep scratch and I do think it will scar.

Should I just put antiseptic on it and leave be?
Thanks.

Leave it keep it clean and dry the scab will do the healing. Creams will jst make the scab soggy, if the redness doesn't settle after a few days or its gets more painful or start weeping then it may be infected but its too early to tell yet.
