Am wondering if DS (2.5) has got thrush. He has had a red sore rash (smooth not crusty) on the corners of his mouth for over a week now. I've tried Vaseline & Aveeno but they are not really ahving much effect.

Since yesterday morning though he has had really bad sore bottom. We have had very little experience of this but despite frequent nappy changes and plenty of Sudocrem it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I presumed the sore bum was becaue he had done a poo early morning and fallen asleep again and so the poo had caused the red.

But now I'm wondering if the 2 might be related. Is it likely? And if so I suppose we need to see a DR rather tham the pharmacist?

I'm not sure whether it is thrush or not, but I would see a pharmacist as my first port of call.

how aobut lip balm?

Hello, Im sure I read that thrush can be passed from the mouth to 'down below', which, of course, will be more likely to happen in children.
When babies get it in their mouth, it is often accompanied by a sore bottom. I would go down to your local pharmacy tomorrow and tell thwm what you think it is, and the symptoms. Im sure there'll be an over-the-counter remdy for it.
Of course, it may not be that at all, I wouldnt leave it if it doesnt seem to be getting any better at all.
Good luck.

Thanks, well pharmacist doesn't think its thrush or that the 2 rashes are related. Have been advised antisceptic for his mouth and meta -something or other for bottom. Fingers crossed.
