Ok, maybe I'm being a bit dim here, but could someone please explain to me why gay men can't donate blood?

No I wouldn't ban hetrosexuals but I also don't think homosexuals should be banned either

I think the rule is outdated. Screening is in place for the hetro blood that gets donated, why not for homosexual men???

Don't know if they still have them but the leaflets explaining who couldn't give blood used to have a cartoon Freddie Mercury-alike in a red vest as the "gay chap"
