Cystoscopy.....how long does it feel like youve been kicked in the basement?

Had mine on Thursday, no conclusive results, but still getting pains like someone is sticking needles in my urethra. Keeping me wide awake.

How long before it will stop?

Oh no that sounds awful. I’ve had several cystoscopies and the pain/discomfort hasn’t lasted longer than a day or two at most. I would give ur doc a call. Things that help me when I have that pain are.. painkillers cocodamol usually, hot water bottle, crouching. When peeing if u hold a bunch of wipes under warm water n hold it on urself as u go. Obvz wash hands throughly after. I hope you feel better soon x

I've not had pain for that long either, is it possible you've got an infection OP? Can you get your GP to test a sample for you? I hope you find something to ease the pain soon

Its stopped now thankfully. I think it was coming from the fact that the doc really struggled to get the camera down my urethra and he did say that I may be sore for "a few days". He nearly sent me through the fucking wall! On the upside he said that my pelvic floor must be very strong :o

I haven’t felt pain for too long either. But when I had a catheter recently and they struggled to get it in I was really uncomfortable for days after - I wonder if you’ve been bruised in the process.
