Best friend (31) had tummy problems for a couple of years, I encouraged her to get investigated for gallstones. She finally had gastroscopy and a scan (MRI?) 2 weeks ago.
After getting home got very unwell and went to A&E a day or so after. Admitted. Antibiotics. Mention of Duodenitis and enlarged spleen, infection but needed a better gastroscopy with biopsy. That was done Sunday I believe.
All went very quiet and 4am Monday her b/f was called to get there fast she may only have an hour to live.
Current situation, sedated/induced coma, stable, very slow improvement in stats, on dialysis and other life support. Not sepsis. Not sure what infection is. No blockages/polyps.
What is going on with her insides?? Dr mentioned poss side effects of recent vax exacerbating existing condition is one avenue they are looking at. Is there a condition that could cause gallstones/enlarged spleen and duodenitis all at once?
Only her b/f is allowed in. 1 hour every 3 days. Their relationship is not great. She has no family in this country, elderly sick parents abroad and I'm closest friend. She became pretty isolated during lockdown etc and between us would prefer to live alone than current situation. I think her b/f may of read the texts she has been sending me about those frustrations now he has her phone for all her contacts.
Wise words of advice welcomed muchly. Thank you.
