cough - 4yr old with Asthma

dd is coughing loads, cant go more than30 seconds without coughing. is very wheezy. obviously is developing a cold cos has runny nose too. have given inhalers. whats a good cough remedy?

I like sudafed for children, does it all. Might need to watch cause of the asthma though.

I would take him to the doctors or hospital, tbh. He might need steroids.

I recommend a strong juice made with lemon barly water. It won't stop the coughing but for me it always broke up the phlegm and lessened wheeziness. Give it a try anyway.

I agree with merryscot. Cough is a symptom of asthma. It sounds like the cold is making her asthma worse.

Something similar happened with my dd last year. Doc gave her steroids and she was much better by the next day.

thanks, she has a chest infection, antibiotics, but the cough is awful for her... almost constant... hopefully will improve bit by morning
