Anyone else have a sore armpit after covid vaccine/ flu jab?

I had my covid booster on Tuesday Pfizer and since Tuesday night I've had a very sore armpit feels as if it's bruised, now I also got the same reaction from the flu vaccine in October..very strange as I get the flu vaccine every year and I've never had a sore armpit before and had no problems with the first two Pfizer vaccines earlier in the year.
Anyone else get this , no one I know has had the sore armpit.

You have a gland there that's a part of your immune system. It'll just be that showing an immune response.

Id take it as a promising thing that my immune system is reacting as it should be.

Yes I had my Pfizer booster today and feel bruised in the armpit too. Never had that with the AZ ones earlier in the year or with the flu one a couple of months ago!

ShaunaTheSheep · 25/11/2021 20:16

Yes, both armpits, and swollen glands on my neck too. Pfizer jab 2 and booster.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 25/11/2021 20:20

yes, last year and this year too. Swollen armpit glands and moving up to neck on the flu side only.

Only a sore arm at the injection site for the covid. (2xAZ last year, and Pfizer booster) Other symptoms too, headache, shivering, aching painful joints, so so tired, hot flushes and a lovely rash on arms torso and tops of legs .

claymodels · 25/11/2021 20:28

It's in the leaflet and listed as an 'uncommon' side effect

gingeristhenewblack43 · 25/11/2021 20:29

I had Pfizer for my first 2 jabs, then Pfizer for my booster. After the booster I felt like I had swollen lymph nodes in my arm pit and down the side of my left breast, which was the side I have had all my jabs on (including flu jab the month before booster). It's a normal reaction.

Rosecottage888 · 25/11/2021 20:40

Same here after my second but not my first.

pennee · 25/11/2021 20:42

I’m 9 weeks in still with swollen glands after Pfizer booster. Had an ultrasound and mammogram today and they’ve confirmed it is glands related. Extremely painful too all down my arm from shoulder joint and intense burning. Hope it goes soon for you.

Lordamighty · 25/11/2021 20:47

Yes, I have a swollen armpit after my Pfizer booster jab. I googled it & it is a reported side effect. Jabs 1& 2 were Astra Zeneca.

Lordamighty · 25/11/2021 20:48

I also had the burning sensation for a week but that has gone now.

DuesToTheDirt · 25/11/2021 20:51

Swollen armpit with my first covid jab (AstraZeneca). I didn't notice anything with my second.

squashyhat · 25/11/2021 20:52

Yes. Deep pain in my armpit for 2 or 3 days after my flu jab which I haven't experienced before. I haven't had my covid booster yet but hope it doesn't happen again.

frogsbreath · 25/11/2021 20:52

Yea, I didn't have this with the two AstraZeneca jabs but I did for a few days with the Pfizer. Odd, but short lived.

Angel2702 · 25/11/2021 21:10

Yes only with the Pfizer booster though.

Candycats · 25/11/2021 21:39

Yep had a v sore armpit after second Pfizer vac (not first one though for some reason) and flu vac too. Took me a while to realise it was related! Went away within a few days.

ThiagoSilvasToe · 25/11/2021 21:53

Yes, for several days after with both doses and the booster.

kissmelittleass · 25/11/2021 23:41

I'm delighted to hear I'm not alone and I mean that in the nicest way!! It's just when you ask people in ' real life' yours limited to who you're asking and no one I asked had the sore bruised like feeling in the armpit so I was a bit worried, thanks to you lovely lot on here I now know it's a symptom quite a few of us share!
Good to know a few of you experienced it with the flu vaccine also, isn't it strange though that until this year's flu vaccine I'd never experienced a sore armpit before and I get the flu vaccine every year and then to get a sore armpit again a few weeks later with the booster when with the first two doses of Pfizer earlier in the year I was fine?
Thanks to everyone for making me feel its normal as such x

Yes, 2 out of three jabs. For me, it felt like muscle pain. Very achy and tender but not swollen.

Snozzlemaid · 26/11/2021 08:28

Yes I did after my 2nd vaccine. It was sore for a couple of days.
Had my booster a few days ago and absolutely no side affects this time.

kissmelittleass · 26/11/2021 09:08

Crikey it's worse this morning extremely tender in the armpit

Mine lasted about a week OP, not fun! Hope it gets better soon.
Practicebeingpatient · 09/12/2021 19:44

I was fine after my first two Astro Zeneca but had exactly this after my `Pfizer booster. It was fine after 3 days though.

WaitingForSunshineAndDaisies · 09/12/2021 21:49

My first two were Pfizer, and booster was Moderna but have only felt this with the booster. I had a sore armpit and sore lump just above my collar bone, both on the Covid vaccine side - I had my flu jab the other side and only had a sore arm at the injection site, no swollen lymph nodes at all.

They lasted about 3 days, but at least I wasn't totally wiped out for 48 hours like I was with the first two - I just carried on as normal.
