trying to give calpol and he vommits... any advice?

hi, i have a 2.7 yrs old boy who has tonsils infection but doesnt want to take the calpol. We have to fight when it is time to take it and after i put it in with a syringue he vomited whatever he has eaten beforehand... what shall i do? i dont know if i should continue to be firm and give it to him or should i let him without it? any advice welcome...

At least you can get it into him.
I just wrestled DS1 (2.5) to the ground and tried to squirt it into his mouth but he clamps iy shut ir spits it all out, so will be watching this thread.

Hi! Are you using the sugar free calpol? Some children tolerate the 'sugared' version better. Good luck

If you can't get calpol in him, is he likely to accept suppositories? Havent' tried them, sounds tricky.
And, this is even madder, why don't we mix calpol with food? would it make a nice sauce over icecream, perhaps? My DS used to vomit after taking calpol, very hard work.

I asked for suppositories once as when DS1 was in hospital with a kidney infection they gave them to him and they wouldn't let me have any.

if tonsillitis, actually, give him icelolly, it will give him liquid, cool him down a bit, and you might get the calpol in him.

You cant vomit out suppositories as you stick them up "behind".
