Do you have private health care? Who do you recommend?

After some opinions on private health care.

I'm considering going with bupa but are there any others I should look at? Am on the south east and I'd like as comprehensive a cover as possible

What have been your experiences, especially after all the lockdowns etc?

Thanks

We have it with Cigna. I had to go in for a small op recently and it was just amazing. Waiting time on NHS was 2 years but going private meant that I was in, seen and op done within a month. We will never go back now and are also looking to extend to private dental care x

Cigna seems to be an American company?

I'm with bupa, I've found claiming very easy.
I'm pleased to have it.

Must admit I've never heard of Cigna

Thanks for the responses. I'm drawn to the reassuring name of bupa but it's certainly not cheap.

A quick google shows Cigna to be for companies ?

I’m currently with Aviva and usef them for the first time recently and I really don’t recommend them.

I have Bupa through work and they've been really easy to deal with. Have only used them for a follow-up consultation (had treatment just before lockdown) and MRI since lockdown but that was arranged pretty quickly. Having had it and used it when the NHS waiting list for an initial investigation was 26 weeks (pre-lockdown so goodness knows what it is now) I would definitely consider paying for it myself if I didn't have it through work.

I am with AXA through work , I've used them a couple of times in the last year and found it very simple and easy to claim. They also have Doctor at Hand which I have also used for a next day video consultation with a Doctor.
