Anyone used homeopathy for allergies?

takes too long to work - I prefer the instant gratification of hard drugs

I took nelson's stuff for hayfever (can't remember exact name) in 06 because I was preganant and couldn't take normal hayfever tablets. It made me feel worse at first and I wouldn't have stuck with it if I had any other option. It took about a month to work but was pretty effective in the end. And this year I didn't take anything and I didn't get any hayfever symptons (but then it did rain for most of summer!)

I used to take bee pollen & New Era for hayfever and it worked. You do have to take before the season starts for a few weeks

What are you thinking of taking and what for if you don't mind my asking?

Dd has chronic catarrh and coughing, dr has diagnosed some unspecified allergy and prescribed twice-daily inhaler (the brown one).

That sounds like me when I was small. Sleeping sitting upright helps, as was lots of steamy baths. She also washed my bedding on high weekly. I still get those symptoms, but they are related to my asthma - not that I am suggesting your dd has that! For the allergy without knowing what it is it can be diff to find something to take.

oops sorry forgot the rest! All i can really suggest is keeping pets away from the bedroom, air the bed and bedding each day, regularly hoover bed and all soft furnishings in bedroom at least once a week, try and damp dust regularly. This should help to keep the most common allergens down. See if you can get your dd referred for allergy testing to try and pinpoint what she's allergic to. Personally, I didn't find any homeopathic remedies help me when I get chronic catarrh, allhtough I did find accupuncture benefical. Sorry can't be much help really.
