When does possetting becoming vomiting?

Advice gratefully received from more experienced mums please. My DH and I have been suffering from either food poisioning or a winter vomiting virus. Difficult to tell which, but obviously the virus could be passed onto DS (10 weeks) quite easily. He has just been 'sick'. It was more than he is usually when he is possetting and it was in one go rather than smaller bits. Also he appears to be quite upset, not red and screaming with pain, but definitely uncomfortable and nothing seems to halp for very long. Ideas welcome.

Sorry to hear this - this bug is a real bugger (no pun intended!) sounds like it could be a vomit rather than just possetting - keep a close eye on him for the next hour and see how he does. I'm sure other mums will be along in a minute.

Thanks for your advice Coolchristmasfairy. Last night DS seemed better, but this morning most of his breakfast came up (breast feeding so difficult to tell, but it was a lot). He also had some bluey-green mucus in his mouth so I am off to the docs in case he has an infection on top of the vomiting bug thing. He is definitely out of sorts, but I suppose if I have had a virus and I am breast feeding then he could pick it up from me....such a novice at this I am not sure.

if you have a virus he could pick it up from you but your milk contains all the anti-bodies he needs to fight it.
