Anyone had the flu vaccine shot on its own this season?

I'm often fairly sensitive to something in the flu shots, so it's helpful to know in advance what effects people have had (I usually use this to decide whether to take it or not, but am going to have it regardless this year, just need to prepare)

Has anyone here had it alone? (Not alongside the covid Booster.) I'll be having mine with the covid Booster but would be helpful to know which effects could be attributed to just the fly vaccine.

Thanks.

attributed to just the fly vaccine.

*flu vaccine of course.

Would the fly vaccine prevent flying or help with it? 😂

I had my flu vaccination in September. I didn't have a single side effect.

FuckyNel · 04/11/2021 14:31

None

@CopperLily

Likewise. It was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️
ItsSnowJokes · 04/11/2021 14:31

Had the flu vaccine a couple of weeks ago and other than a slightly sore arm (which i get with all vaccines) nothing else at all.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 04/11/2021 14:32

Flu vaccine by itself in September. No side effect at all, not even a sore arm this year.

CornishGem1975 · 04/11/2021 14:32

Had flu vaccine in September, nothing but a sore arm.

Mosky · 04/11/2021 14:32

Nothing, not even the usual sore arm.

TrueGrit54 · 04/11/2021 14:32

DH and I had it (50s) and DS 17, zero side effects.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 04/11/2021 14:33

Actually, I didn’t get any side effects from the covid booster either, which I had several weeks later.

InTheLabyrinth · 04/11/2021 14:33

Yes.
Had mine a boots a few weeks ago. No side effects.
DH also breezed through his flu vaccine.

TyrannysaurusXXrightshoarder · 04/11/2021 14:33

Had it alone, absolutely no side effects - not even the usual sore arm this time .

Bathshebahardy · 04/11/2021 14:33

I had mine with no side effects. I have had side effects in the past but this year and last year have been fine, just a mildly sore arm. The sore arm was much worse with the pneumococcal vaccine, which I had the following week. The Covid vaccine was the worst, but not yet had the booster.

SirChenjins · 04/11/2021 14:33

Had my flu vaccine on its own at work - I hadn’t had enough time between my second vaccine to have the booster at the same time unfortunately. No side effects at all.

TyrannysaurusXXrightshoarder · 04/11/2021 14:34

DDs also had it alone and they concur - not even a sore arm.

MedusasBadHairDay · 04/11/2021 14:34

@Mosky

Nothing, not even the usual sore arm.
Same. I was pleasantly surprised
WhatHaveIFound · 04/11/2021 14:34

DH and I, DS & DD have all had flu injections on their own. All of us has a sore arm overnight but were fine the next day. Same with both my parents.

HermioneWeasley · 04/11/2021 14:34

Yes. I normally get one of two symptoms ( or both) - always a sore arm and sometimes fluy symptoms for a day or two.

This year it wasn’t a sore arm, it was an sharp pain like the needle has broken off and was still there and hugely itchy.

It’s still itchy 4 days later but slowly getting better

Never had anything like it and I’ve had a flu jab every year for years

StopGo · 04/11/2021 14:34

Had mine two weeks ago. Just a tender spot at the injection site. I feel fine

Jasmine11 · 04/11/2021 14:35

I had mine last month and had no side effects at all, not even a sore arm.

Busygoingblah · 04/11/2021 14:36

Had the covid booster and the flu jab 3 weeks apart.

Covid booster caused zero side effects.

Flu jab caused 3 days of fatigue and migraine type headaches and an itchy arm.

I haven’t reacted to any of my covid jabs but usually react to the flu jab.

BeyondShrinks · 04/11/2021 14:37

I'm always ill (side effects, not a cold...!) following my 'flu vaccine. This year I had it in September (on its own) and didn't have so much as a sore arm!

Gingernaut · 04/11/2021 14:42

I had a flu shot one Saturday and a Covid shot on Sunday.

The flu shot (tetravalent type for under 65s) was nothing - no redness, no raised area and no pain.

The booster Covid shot hurt for days afterwards.

Theforest · 04/11/2021 14:44

Slightly achy arm but that was it

Lindy2 · 04/11/2021 14:46

I've had my flu vaccine. I was absolutely fine. A very very slightly sore arm if I poked at the vaccination site, but I felt completely well (and could obviously avoid poking the injection site if I wanted to!)
