Anyone had the flu vaccine shot on its own this season?

I'm often fairly sensitive to something in the flu shots, so it's helpful to know in advance what effects people have had (I usually use this to decide whether to take it or not, but am going to have it regardless this year, just need to prepare)

Has anyone here had it alone? (Not alongside the covid Booster.) I'll be having mine with the covid Booster but would be helpful to know which effects could be attributed to just the fly vaccine.

Thanks.

Nothing at all

doodleygirl · 04/11/2021 14:48

Had the flu jab 2 weeks after my covid booster, didnt have a side effect from either of them.

Sunsetdive · 04/11/2021 14:50

I had my flu vaccine a few weeks ago, I didn't even get a sore arm. No side effects whatsoever.

DumplingsAndStew · 04/11/2021 14:52

Thank you so much for the responses. It sounds like a low side effect year, which is great.

I'm disabled and a single parent, so need to prepare if I'm expecting to be more out of commission than usual.

I hope those who are suffering side effects are fully recovered soon.

I had it this year and felt a bit tired/achy for 24 hrs then I was fine. Last time I got the flu shot I wasn't well for days, so not so bad this year.

usernotfound0000 · 04/11/2021 14:58

I had mine and not a single effect. I was expecting the worst after feeling a bit ropey after the covid vaccine but honestly wouldn't have known I'd had it. DH also reported no side effects.

Bells3032 · 04/11/2021 15:00

had both my flu vaccine and my booster but about 6 weeks apart. for both i had an achy arm for about 48 hours and beyond that was absolutely fine

MrsAvocet · 04/11/2021 15:01

I had a sore arm, but I always do. Other than that, nothing.

gogohm · 04/11/2021 15:03

Didn't get any side effects, I had the under 65 one

CaveMum · 04/11/2021 15:03

Had mine at the weekend. Slightly tender at the injection site for about 24 hours but otherwise nothing.

For context the first Covid vaccine left me feeling a bit "off" for a few days (woke up in the middle of the night the day after with a blinding headache and threw up once) and my arm ached for about a week but the second one didn't do a thing to me.

MenopauseSucks · 04/11/2021 15:03

Had it in September & had no side effects - if I hadn't seen the needle go in & the plunger go down, I wouldn't have known I'd had it!

(Some years the jab has flattened me but this year was a good 'un)

NotMyCat · 04/11/2021 15:04

I had it the day before the covid vaccine
Sore arm, that was it

MadisonAvenue · 04/11/2021 15:06

I had mine on it’s own. Just had a slightly achy arm for a day or two.

LookNorthbyNorthWest · 04/11/2021 15:06

No side-effects for me!

Iamanicepersonreally · 04/11/2021 15:08

I had mine in October. No side effects whatsoever

YukoandHiro · 04/11/2021 15:08

Yes. Zero effects except a bruised arm. Some years I feel really rough but this year, nothing!

knittingaddict · 04/11/2021 15:09

Had mine a few weeks ago. No side effects at all

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2021 15:14

My arm was sore for 10 minutes.

WhatsitWiggle · 04/11/2021 17:21

Just tenderness at the injection site, like a bruise, no side effects.

Weaverspin · 04/11/2021 17:23

Had it a couple of weeks ago. A slightly tender arm for a couple of days, and that was it.

FadedRed · 04/11/2021 17:25

Three weeks between flu and Covid jabs and no side effects from either. Could find the injection sites if I pressed my arm, but not sore otherwise.

nousernamehere01 · 04/11/2021 17:29

I have one every year, this year I had one and a whooping cough jab at the same time.

Never had any issues whatsoever with a flu jab!

DumplingsAndStew · 04/11/2021 17:30

Brilliant, you are all reassuring me.

Am also slightly jealous of you who've all had it by now, our invites have only just come out 🙁
