Fever without other symptoms and ibuprofen not working

Last night I went to bed and started to feel feverish, after a while I got up and checked it was 39C. I popped 2 ibuprofen and went back to bed and after what felt like ages my fever finally broke down to maybe 37.5ish. Throughout the day I felt tired and rundown but the fever stayed at about 37.5-38.
In the evening it rose again and now it's 38.7. I took 2 ibuprofen 2 hours ago but they havnt worked which is very unusual for me.

Not sure what's going on, any idea what it could be? Will ring Gp in the morning!

I had Covid in July and I'm double jabbed. Sometimes I feel like Covid changed my body's immune system, has anyone else suffered from random fevers post Covid?

@mummymummymummummum thank you for checking, last night was bad :( fever spiked at 39.5 and I barely slept. Got a PCR book within the next hour or so. Throat is feeling sore now too so it's either Covid or some other viral throat infection possibly...

Paracetamol should sort the fever. Feel better

Hope you feel well soon. Can you alternate between ibuprofen and paracetamol to manage your high temp?

Whatever this is, it's hell. Day 7 of feeling like shit; I have horrible green gunk coming out of my nose and throat every few minutes. Sudafed barely touches it. Waiting for a call back from GP 😞

Oh and I woke up with horrible conjunctivitis in one eye, never had it like this!
