Holter monitor still recording after I took it off

I've just had an ecg 24 hour monitor and I took it off at 3pm today however it's now 9pm and it's still saying it's recording??? Have I done something wrong, am I supposed to turn it off in some way? I called 111 and the woman spoke to a nurse quickly who had said I just need to return it Monday it must be faulty.
What I'm worried about now is il have to do it again or it won't be accurate now because it's still recording more.
Am I supposed to take the cables of the monitor? Because I haven't done that but I was never told to take the cables off the monitor just of my skin, does anyone have any experience with this?

In my experience they will sort themselves out and no need to 'turn off'

Okay, does it take a while? It's still said recording since earlier today, hopefully it stops soon :/

Cardiac nurse here. I wouldn't worry as when looking at an ECG it's usually easy to tell when wires aren't connected anymore so the technicians who look at the readings should just be able to discount everything after the wires were off

Thank you for replying, I was starting to worry they would ask me to do it again
