I have a large ovarian fibroadenoma, fibroids and uterine polyps and a family history of ovarian cancer and therefore have been strongly advised to have a hysterectomy, the fallopian tubes and the tumour removed. I have looked into the alternatives and now accept that this is my best chance to reduce, if not eliminate gynae cancer risk. That said, it is a major op and given how long it takes to recover from the surgery I am a little terrified but my fears would be greatly allayed if the op is carried out by a gynae surgeon who is regarded as among the best in the field. I would be hugely grateful for recommendations for gynae surgeons in London, whether they be NHS or private. Thanks
