Have had Mirena coil fitted (replaced every 5 yrs) since 2006 and haven't had a period since then.
Currently perimenopausal and on Oestrogel.

For the last 4/5 days I have been getting stomach pains on and off. They are very low down in my abdomen and feel like period pains. Sore enough to need a hot water bottle. Worse in the evenings but can happen during the day too. Also getting the occasional shooting pain into the top of my thigh too. Other than that, no symptoms. It's just so odd, I haven't had a period for so long, I'd forgotten what they feel like. Now I remember, it's shit Hmm.

Any idea what might be going on?

Do I leave/ignore/put up with it or is it worth ringing the GP?

Definitely do not leave or put up with it. Ring GP. Hope you get sorted

Phone the GP.

I assume you've had the coil changed in the last 16yrs? They last 5-6yrs I think.

Thanks, I will speak to GP (and yes, coil changed every 5yrs, not harbouring an antique Grin)

Could the coil have slipped a little and digging in somewhere it shouldn't ? Def mention to GP as it's a simple check to see if correct position
Be mindful in the meantime that not affective contraception if falling out

Have you got diverticulitis? I've just seen the doctor with similar symptoms and she said it was that.
