Referred to breast clinic for armpit lump - positive stories?

Found a small lump deep in one armpit a week or so ago. Didn't think much of it but thought best to get checked by GP.

Been this afternoon and after a quick examination GP said it was a swollen lymph node and I would be referred urgently to the breast clinic to rule out cancer. She was very matter of fact and not very reassuring, I was rather hoping she'd tell me not to worry and that it was probably nothing Confused

So in the absence of professional reassurance, and while I wait for the appointment, anyone had this and had a positive outcome?

Really common and the vast, vast majority are nothing to worry about. Have you had a covid vaccine recently? I have spectacular lymph nodes in my underarm and all up the side of my neck after my booster and it’s a really common side effect. Also common to get lymph nodes up due to mild irritations from shaving the underarm.
Hopefully you won’t have to wait long but I’d say the likelihood is it’s just a reactive node Flowers

Thanks, Covid vaccine was months ago although I did have my flu vax a couple of weeks ago, not sure if that can have the same effect?

My logical brain knows it's probably nothing but it's hard not to start imagining the worst...

Also the lumpy node is on the opposite side to the arm where I had the vax - I think it would be on the same side if that was the cause

I went a couple of months ago for exactly this.
They ruled it out as fine really fast, but then were concerned about a shadow on the other side.
I had to have 2 ultrasounds and 2 mammograms - all fine in the end.
They are very thorough.

Thanks @trumpisagit, I'm glad you had a good outcome :)

Did you find out what caused your lump in the end?
