I'm on day 2 of what I can only assume to be a horrible horrible cold/mild flu (as in done covid tests all negative)

Totally blocked nose, sore chest, wheezing, coughing so so tired. Single parent but luckily can sleep whilst DS is at school cause I'm off work with it

Anyone else suffering who wants to come mope around with me until we feel better.....???!! Feel like I may well be dying! 😬

Same here. Negative pcr but so poorly. Coughing, tight chest, snotty and my throat is so sore. The nights are the worst I am getting very little sleep as I am so uncomfortable. I have stridor which I have only ever heard when the kids have croup!

@Nofaffing we literally have exactly the same symptoms!! The only time I've ever felt this bad in my life is when I had bronchitis! Wouldn't be surprised if it was some kind of chest infection as it's so bad! Same as you, really tight wheezing etc etc.

Let's hope it only lasts days and not weeks!!! 🤞🤞

Feeling like 💩 wallowing in self pity

I have the same thing, rotten cold but Covid negative.
I'm also wheezing plus I'm a woman of a certain age and am coughing so hard I don't know whether I'm going to break wind or wet myself (sorry for TMI!)

Count me in! Waiting for my PCR to come back. Took it at 1pm today. LFT this morning had a slight smudge on it.

Exactly the same symptoms, cough, wheeze awful pains in my fingers, feet, knees, shoulders and arms. Headache I think from coughing so much. I was exhibiting at a trade show on Fri/Sat. I bloody knew I would get something. Am double jabbed and had flu jab 2 weeks ago today.

Also risk farting or pissing myself each time I cough @Kummerspeck!

Yes I'll join you. I don't know what I got but it started as a cough and went to my chest. I have another condition which means I should have prompt treatment for antibiotics as chest infections can be worse. I'm not sure I like this idea as the antibiotics I've been given are horrible. I woke up coughing so hard yesterday that I went to the toilet and threw up. I literally hate being sick and pride myself on having a good stomach for things. I was very not happy.

Coughing a lot is really hard work.

Trying to stay positive though that it will be what it is and it will work its way out eventually. Plus there is soup and hot drinks.

I think I just need to forget everything and sleep lots.

My PCR just came back negative. I feel like I've been runover. Its gargantuan effort to type this. It must be flu. I feel like I'm dying. Had flu jab 2 weeks ago. Stabbing pains in my hands arms feet. Feel so hot and so sick. Head is throbbing. Can't taste anything just up having paracetamol with ribena but it may as well be water.

I've told work I'm off for the remainder of the week. I last had a day sick in 2017!

My throat is so sore, I think in have laryngitis, I slept so badly and what I coughed up this morning was not pretty.....feeling very sorry for myself and having to communicate with the kids through a text to voice app. NHS site shows this could last 3 weeks.

I feel for you, I had it a couple of months back, it’s truly awful - the mother of all colds.

In my case it turned into a throat infection, tonsillitis, then finally sinusitis. It was a truly miserable time, repeated trips to minor injuries, loads of antibiotics, etc. You have my sympathies. Try to rest and look after yourself as much as you can.

Sympathies from me. I had something about 10 days ago and although I had a couple of days off work, I'm still not right. Have some kind of post viral thing where I can't take deep breaths without coughing and feel like someone's sitting on my chest. I'm normally energetic and outgoing but I just feel zapped. Tested a few times, just in case, all negative.

I’ve got this same thing. Started last Thursday, by Saturday I was having fits of uncontrollable coughing. Rattley chest and tickley cough, headache, sore throat etc (plus the ‘lady of a certain age’ trimmings).
It’s awful. Been ‘sleeping’ on the sofa since Saturday, so I can be sat upright propped up with pillows. If I try to lie down the coughing is unbelievable.
On the bright side, think I feel a bit better this morning, and I’ve lost half a stone…

Oh no sorry to hear others are suffering too!!! I feel slightly more human today and was off work - feel like I've taken a thorough beating to the stomach when I cough now cause it hurts so much!
