Not sure whats happening...

my period last month was very strange, started off spotting when normally heavy for 5-7 days, period lasted 6 days but only one day of normal bleeding and rest very light. This month I was due on today, two days ago i had some black spotting and today again more black spotting mainly on toilet roll and now nothing - no perios pains or tummy niggles. my skin is spotty as it normally is at this time but no period. i done a superdrug pregnancy test just to make sure - it was neg. bit confused as i am normally like clockwork and i never get a black show before? could the test be wrong? could i be having a very early misscarriage that has not yet kicked in?

ML - I have no idea. Are you trying to conceive? (kind of personal, but...) When we were trying I analyzed every little thing bc I was so eager to get pregnant. And it seemed I had stranger periods... maybe bc I was anxious/excited about trying, stress, etc.

Anyway, it's always worth a little chat w a nurse if you are worried to settle your mind.

hi - only thing similar i have ever experienced was - once just after exams, light spotting no period (think was the stress of exams), and then last year when I was PG, a light three day period that never really got going - brown discharge/stomach cramps (PG was fine, docs reckoned it was implantation bleed or possibly threatened m/c)

i would maybe retest again using a better make of test - first response or boots own or clearblue digital seem to be recommended on here. it is possible to get false negatives on HPTs, but would expect them to be accurate a few weeks after the missed period. I think they are slightly more likely to show a positive if you use first morning urine.if there is any doubt as to whether you are PG your GP can refer you for blood tests and/or do an internal/check your tummy. Although what you have experienced sounds consistent with bleeding during early PG (light spotting around period time), equally other things like stress or thyroid imbalance or hormone imbalance can cause scanty periods.

i came on this morning, woke up with a heavy bleed and cramps, it has calmed down now. feel so tired, dd woke up for 2 hours crying in pain with teething, never seen her so bad, even holding her would not console her. in the ene ddh had to sleep in lounge and she tokk his place. so i got a nice early morning hello from her. shattered now and i have to dj tonight at my friends 30th! ah well! ah well at least my periods started.
