I have the not covid bug please prevent me from clawing my ears off

Omg- the ringing and pressure and soreness.

I'm not otherwise congested but it will be blocked sinuses. Everything sounds like I'm under water. I'm miserable.

What would you recommend?

I’m just at the tail end of this, still coughing three weeks on! It’s a hell of a bug. I tried inhaling peppermint in steam but it didn’t help much- it did pass in a couple of days though, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. We all had covid at Xmas and it feels similar but worse if I'm honest. Dd was worryingly ill, two lateral and two pcrs negative.

I'm also just getting over this. Paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with the pain and swelling in the sinuses, decongestants, plenty of vic on me and in a bowl with hot water and a towel over my head. I got night nurse as well to help me sleep but double check all the dosage instructions if you're taking anything else.

I swear by mugs of hot tea/coffee whatever held against my forehead/cheek/side of my nose.

Obviously not burn you levels of hot but I don't think it's very good for you anyway, but so so soothing.

Steam inhalation also good.

My nose isn't blocked but the sinuses are connected. I'm going to take some ibuprofen rub dome vicksand go to bed. Feeling pretty sorry for myself

Look up sinus massage. It can be really helpful!

No miracle cures here but I have exactly the same problem with this disgusting not covid cold - never have my sinuses hurt so much, even my jaw and cheeks feel swollen and inflamed. Nothing seems to help much so at the end of the day wrangling two kids under 4 I just crawl into bed like a broken person and hope they don’t wake up on the hour every hour…! Hopefully it’ll pass soon…

My Mum swears by steam inhalation but I can’t say it’s helped me much unfortunately. Maybe Sudafed but check ingredients if also taking other meds xx
