Hi all, just looking for a place to open up and a bit of a hand hold please?
I had a hysterectomy in March 2019 - uterus, tubes and cervix removed just leaving ovaries – due to adenomyosis but endometriosis was found in my tubes after the op. All good for 2 and a half years, no complications.
Almost 2 weeks ago I began getting a pain in my ovary area which then spread to my groin and had a feeling of pressure like when you are heavily pregnant. 10 days ago it was so painful to walk (my Fitbit recorded my doing 121 floors instead of 8 because of the way I was walking), I called 111 (UK, NHS) who sent me to the urgent care centre at a local hospital. The dr there quizzed me about my symptoms and felt my abdomen but because I hadn’t experienced any vaginal bleeding or vaginal discharge, he suspected kidney stones. My understanding is after having a hysterectomy and my cervix removed, if it WAS my ovary causing issues, I wouldn’t have any vaginal bleeding/discharge?? However they did find blood in my urine so I was told to get a referral from my GP for a CT (kidney, Urethra, Bladder) scan within 7 days.
I had this scan yesterday after a battle, but the wait for results is 2-4 weeks and I am driving myself crazy with what ifs? I am still not convinced it’s my kidneys as my instincts say its my ovary. I have had ovary pain before although it’s never lasted this long or spread to my groin before. Would I be unreasonable to push for an ultrasound to just ensure there are no cysts or tumours?
I still in pain, especially when I walk or stand for long periods and have convinced myself it’s cancer just based on a gut feeling but I do struggle badly with anxiety and can let my mind run away. Sorry this is so long, thanks for reading.
