She has a bad cough which Ive given her tixylix for, but her nose is very runny, and Im using Kleenex tissues to wipe her nose but she doesnt like it and wont let me do it. She woke up this morning and it was all stuck to her face Any tips on other methods I could try? Thanks xxx

How old is she ? Would she let you use a nasal aspirator from time to time then at least you don't have a contstantly runny nose to mop up. I've been using kamillosan on dd's face where it gets chaffed with snot and that does seem to help the soreness. Tend to give her a wash with a cotton wool pad first, pat dry and apply. Also we use the balsam tissues as they seem less abrasive.

shes 23 months. the tissues Ive been using hae that balm stuff on. Im not sure if I have any kamillosan in. Would that be alright to use on her. I dont think she'd allow me to use that aspirator thing on her let alone sniff it. xxx

My DS has just got over a cold. We bought a humidifier for his room and it really seemed to un-block his nose and clear his chest. Also his nose seemed less "sticky" in the mornings.

OK, this is gonna sound really strange, but I found that using a (Clean!) J cloth to wipe DS's nose made it less sore than using tissues (even the ones with the balm on). Whenever he has a cold now, I buy a multipack, and he much prefers to use those to tissues (he's 2 now, so he can wipe his own nose (well, most of it anyway!). I also put vaseline around he's nose and lips when he goes to bed, to try to ease any soreness.

My doctor advised me that tixylix (which is all you can really use for under 1's) is a waste of time!!
