How long do you allow a headache to continue before going to the doctor? What is causing it?

I have had a real pain in my temples and around the eyeballs for a few days. At times it is so bad I feel sick and go dizzy while other times it is just a dull pain.

I have just started wearing my glasses again could it be caused by this? My eyesight isn;t awful I need the glasses for distances and consntration.

Could it be stress, I am under immense stress and had what I think was a panic attack the other night.

Dp thinks it is a mixture of stress and exhaustion, I stayed off work today and slept very heavily until half three in the afternoon and feel slightly better. Yesterday i was getting hysterical with the pain whereas now although it hurts I am calmer if that makes sense.

Have you taken any decongestants in case it is a sinus headache?

warrants I mean, you can tell I was typing that on my phone!

To me it sounds like it could be a cluster headache, if it is on one side:

I get them like that sometimes. Go to the doctor. Mine has given me an antidepressant/sleeping pill to take when I get it that relaxes all the blood vessels - it seems to stop the tension that hurts so much, and lets me sleep it off.

I do get hysterical quite easily. went to the doctor who thinks it is stress. Took two days off work although if said i needed at least a week.
