DS1 has a horrible snotty nose and says he feels very headachey!. have given him some sudafed to clear the nose. Am I correct in thinking I can't give him Medised with the Sudafed? I know I should know, but my mind has gone blank

i think you are right as it would be a double dose of decongestant.

saltirehangingonachristmastree · 06/12/2007 18:40

Right, will just give him some calpol pr nurofen instead then. Thought that was right, just needed someone else to confirm

They both have paracetemol on them I think. As does calpol. Be wary.

saltirehangingonachristmastree · 06/12/2007 19:11

It's ok though,as the Sudafed doesn't have paracetamol in it. He's just had some calpol, and is currently in a warm bath!

Medised doesn't contain a decongestant, but an antihistamine

saltirehangingonachristmastree · 06/12/2007 20:53

Well he had 5mls of sudafed at 6pm, along with some calpol, 10mls of that. He's just gone to bed having had some nurofen stuff.

you should be ok then. Just dont mix two lots of paracetamol/decongestant/neurofen.

you and take the paracetamol and the neurofen togeather if needs be though
