Odd Rash - Please give advice - HELP

Hi, DD has got really bad cold and cough. I was recommended to give her a little bit of honey to sooth the throat. Have been giving her honey for 2 days, only a little each day. This morning, however she woke up and was covered in a bright red rash, round her neck, under her arms, round by her nappy, on her knees. There are no spots just flat red rashes everywhere. It has slowly faded thougout day any my childminder just rung to say that she gave a 1/2 teaspoon of honey this morning and the rash has appeared under her chin. Can any of you advise if there is such as a thing as a honey allergy or if it could be something else.

the rash could be due to the virus or could be an allergy. you should get her to the doctors.

I'm allergic to some honey (depends on what flowers it is made with). It makes my throat itch and sometimes brings me up in a rash. It's entirely possible she is allergic too. Take her to the doctor.
