New to desogestrel- have I skipped my period?

Hi I've been on microgynon then rigividion for over 15years then hit that magic age of 35!

I ignored docs recommendations and kept on rigividion then finally took the plunge. I'm on desogestrel and first month I was already due my period when I started but second month light spotting, cramps and breast tenderness then nothing for past few days ..I'm usually 34 day cycle, I'm on day 37 am I getting ahead of myself or have I skipped my period? Is it too soon in month 2 to get excited or is this common? Dunno what I was scared of aside from irregular bleeding (bit of a control freak about these things hence why combined worked well for me) ...

My question is at what point do I say that's it til next month?

Thanks guys

As long as you don't smoke, arent very overweight and you don't have high blood pressure then you can stay on combined contraceptives until age 50. Age alone isn't a factor that would stop you using the combined pill.

Desogrstrel stopped my periods for several years

I’ve been taking it for 15 months and I’ve never had a period. You don’t take a break in the tablets. Are you hoping to be pregnant?

It was high BMI that meant had to stop...I carried on for another year as I said using online doctor prescription but then decided to give it a go.

Cool fx I'm gonna skip then. I know it's early days n could still het 2/3 periods or whatever bit quite happy no bleeding to deal with just the cramps etc..

Nope got our daughter not planning on anymore but didn't want invasive things and tried with no pill and that was hell! Had really bad periods in my teens hence why went on in the first place.

I'm just curious as to other ppls experiences whether if they skipped a period it meant they had one following month of whether it's an indicator I may skip from now on...Is it wierd I'm excited about this lol

I think when I first took it I had a few weeks of light spotting then no periods - possibly without a proper period between?

After each baby I've gone back on it with no bleeding after the first tablet.

I've been on it 13yrs except for pregnancies. It works for me.

Wow fx I'm the same! If it known I wudnt have waited lol but my my. Had issues with mini pill n id read stories that scared me so got spooked...Cool fx I skip then...waxytimes - do you always get cramps etc on a monthly basis?

Also went for pill review n my blood pressure was best it's been in years (not that I was high or anything) so that was the first plus...

one question though, if mini pill is stopping my periods ot must therecore be stopping me ovulate which begs the question why do I still get monthly cramps? I appreciate I may not get a period due to no lining to shed but surely the cramps are related to that shedding process (sorry if tmi)...just trying to figure it all out, concept of no period is such a strange one as only time in past that happened was when took two pill packets together with no break lol
