Left ear and throat hurt agonisingly since early July

This has happened since I got a cold in July (tested negative for COVID) I didn't even have a fever at the time. Since, I've gotten blood tests which came up with nothing. GP also took swabs of my throat which came up with nothing. I've been given codeine but it does nothing to ease the pain. It hurts so badly that I've been needing 12-14 hours of sleep per night to have a few pain-free hours. But once the pain kicks in I have to lay in bed to ease it a little. (I am basically homebound) I am unable to leave the house and haven't since July except for a baby shower and my weekly therapy (which makes the pain shoot up... I've had to cancel it a few times)

GP says it's persistent laringitis but the pain doesn't get worse when I speak...

The pain feels like a constant burn and it is the left side of my throat and inside of my left ear (it's not indigestion - I've been on meds to rule that out)

If anyone has experienced this... please let me know!

So sorry you’re going through this op.
I’ve had quinsy and at first I thought of this as potentially somehow connected but your post ruled that out I think.
Is your GP going to refer you to ENT specialist ? Symptoms are very significant from what you describe.
Good luck.

If it feels like both throat and ear, it suppose it could be in your eustacian tube.
Don't know anything else though.
Hope you get it resolved, it must be awful.

The burning sounds like trigeminal neuralgia but not sure it is in the right place? This tends to come in attacks but Have a look. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Thanks everyone for your responses :)
I've got a face-to-face GP appointment next week and will ask to be referred to an ENS specialist. I think it probably is eustacian tube related...

Definitely back to your GP. Whilst most likely nothing to worry about, a persistent sore throat is a criterion for urgent ENT review.

I would also not rule out teeth. Could it possibly be an abscess in your jaw? Often the pain presents in a different area to the cause. Jaws, ears snd thrusts all connected
