Thought that would get your attention . On Thursday my DD had to have a bit or gravel removed from her ear under anesthetic. They coulnd't get it out in A&E so we had to go back 2 days later to get it out.I have a horrible feeling that it might have been there since our holiday back in october but only now has she complained about it - what a trooper!!!

Any way.. was it a big bit of gravel? Poor little love. wonder how it got there? My sister put the pea up her nose, and then pushed it up further trying to get it out, she wa s too embarassed to tell anyone!!

Sweetiesandcakes · 04/12/2007 16:17

I've no idea how large it was - I asked them to keep it in a pot for me but apparently it ended up in the bin. There was a sandpit on holiday that was a typical Canary island type one - you know - full of volcanic rock and god knows what else so I have a feeling that it must have come from there as she had this weird obsession with rolling in it after getting out of the swimming pool! kids!! How old was your sister when she decided to play 'hide the pea'?

Bizarre Fio (I won't ask).

Hope your little dd recovers well, Sweeties, and that she wasn't too traumatized by the hospital visits.

Sweetiesandcakes · 04/12/2007 16:35

Skyatnight - A COMB???? {{{oops shouted that out loud in the office}}}} Please explain more??

I don't know how (he was too young for nose hair!?) but it was a hairdressers-type of comb - half comb/half spikey handle and the comb bit was up one nostril. It took a while to get it out because the teeth of the comb were dragging against the inside when they pulled it and it was too painful for him.

It doesn't sound as if your dd's injury was, but these things are often self-inflicted. There must be a peak age for it. (Note to self: make sure dd is fully occupied with constructive activities and not allowed to get bored!)
