Pain in middle of ribs

Hi , I woke up at 3am this morning with a pain in the middle of my upper ribs radiating around the side . I had this years ago & Gavisvon cleared it but today it’s easing off & returning
Has anyone experienced this ?

Sounds like how it is when I start to have a gallbladder flare-up. I have gallstones and my gallbladder is knackered basically, but the hospital won't remove it until I'm down to a particular weight (don't ask!)
Anyway that's how my pains start. I really hope it's something else OP

Hi kezzabellaB, I’m sorry about your health , I seem to have been experiencing this pain on & off for years , I can’t eat as I feel nauseous
What do you find eases the pain when you have a flair up ? I think I’ll have to phone the Dr tomorrow

If it's gallstones the pain will be in the left hand upper quadrant, can radiate into back and sometimes tip of shoulder. Make sure you avoid fat m and sip water. I was prescribed Buscopan which can be bought over the counter also.

I get nausea too 🤢 quite a lot actually. Bleh. It's horrible.
There's not a great deal does help when I'm in the middle of a 'flare-up' but a hot water bottle is always comforting. I'd give it a try if I were you but definitely ring your GP tomorrow. Even if it's not your GB, you need to find out what's causing the problem. Good luck x

Hi Hattiesmith , that’s precisely where the pain is , I’ve made a hot water bottle & it’s easing the pain
I was just saying to my husband that we had a curry Friday night & Chinese last night I wonder if this has triggered something .
