This is not a virus, right?

Ds aged 3 vomited once in the early hours (05.00). He awoke feeling completely normal. He has eaten and kept down a normal breakfast.

I was going to keep him off Pre-School for 48 hours but when I rang in the Pre-School leader quizzed me, told me it was unlikely to be a virus and told me to bring him in. I'm still prevaricating.

Thing is he does have a cough and cold and so has been swallowing mucus so it could have been the mucus that made him sick?

Also, usually when he has had a viral vomiting bug not only has he been sick more than once, but he has also - even when apparently feeling better, been off his food and with little appetite for 12-24 hours afterwards....and yet today he eat breakfast 3 hours after vomiting

What should I do?

my son had the bug which is going around on sat night. he's still off his food a bit. so doesn't really sound like the same thing.

Go with your gut instinct. If he seems fine and they say to bring him in then there's no reason why you shouldn't take him. There are a lot of vomiting bugs going around though so tbh there's no real way to know whether its a virus or not other than to wait and see.
