Mirena Coil - weight gain?

Hi,

I think this is the right place to post! Some of you might have coils in following giving birth, or have used them in the past.

At the mo I have a non hormonal coil in, but my periods are awful, PMT starting as soon as I ovulate, rocketing appetite, water retention, painful swollen breasts - for 2 weeks before I'm due.

I was wondering about swapping to a Mirena as I know they will do wonders for my symptoms but I really, really, really don't want to gain any weight.

Has anyone had any experience of these coils? Having read some discussions on forums on the net I'm tending towards putting up with my symptoms so I don't gain weight, as that would make me more depressed than having a sore chest for half the month.

I've tried evening primrose oil - it doesn't help a great deal.

I've had a mirena and it made no difference to my weight at all. I only had it out to ttc

I have a Mirena coil and it has made no difference to weight gain. It has been in around 3 years now.
