Arachnoid cyst incidental finding… just wondering

Every so often this pops into my mind again.
A couple of years ago I had a bulging disc/trapped nerve thing in my neck and was in agony. I had an MRI via my health insurance, and when I got the results rather than talking initially about my discs the dr said that there was this incidental finding of an arachnoid cyst. He asked me if I’d had any symptoms such as headaches etc which I haven’t. From memory I think it was about 2cm and near the brain stem/top of the spine.

He was a bit vague and I can’t remember what he said but said maybe the GP might follow up but that it had probably been there since birth and I might never have known about it if it wasn’t for the MRI. He also said that these sorts of incidental findings are really common.

GP has never mentioned it and I haven’t brought it up.

But every so often I remember about it.

Does anyone know any thing about them and if it is anything to worry about or that the GP should be monitoring?

incidentally I hated having the scan and got really claustrophobic in the scanner, panicked and asked to be got out the first time, the thought of having another one is hideous
