Why is my head itching?

I've just treated everyone with Hedrin because the whole family was itching like mad. I was fairly sure I was clear anyway as I checked several times and found no lice. But now we've been done, the DCs are fine and lice-free) but I'm still itching. What could it be?

I was paranoid about catching lice because DD seems to get lice every few weeks. My head was also itching but combed through with nitty gritty & no lice. So either its a Psychological thing, i.e. you think you got lice cos you are itching but I would sooner say it is just the time of year for it. My scalp has been itching like mad lately. It is this cold weather we have had.

There was thread on itchy scalps a few weeks ago.

Thanks jingly. I missed that thread. I wondered if it was all in my head so to speak

i have an itchy flaky scalp that flares up as soon as the central heating goes on! Try something like alphosyl shampoo?

SofiaAmes · 04/12/2007 05:05

I got this when pregnant and get it periodically with hormone fluctuations....it's hormones.

Thankyou. Thankfully I'm not pregnant . I'll try alphosyl polly

Have you combed through with a nitty gritty comb? Absolutley no point in combing if it's not with one of these little beauties!!!! They're about £10 but we got ours on prescription for free!!!!!! Good luck!

the only prob i've found is that these shampoos tend to strip colour out of your hair.

Alphosyl one of the better ones IMO.Avoid T gel at all costs!

a couple of people on the other thread recommended nirvana naturals white nettle and jasmine shampoo...order online, about a fiver with free delivery....am going to give it a try myself
