Hi

I have recently had an MRI of my head I have got a telephone call with my consultant, I got told it was going to be via a letter, so this has surprised me, has anyone had bad results this way or should I think positive?

DH's initial bad news appointments have always been face to face.

HeronLanyon · 02/09/2021 22:43

It could honestly be anything op. Sometimes they call so a minor thing can be explained or there is a choice of treatment which needs to be gone over etc.
Hope it’s good news. Support.

riversmoothies · 02/09/2021 22:44

Thank you, hopefully nothing, it's frustrating just waiting to know.

When did you have Mri done and how long is appointment. I'm currently waiting to hear following my appointment.

Hope all goes ok for you

MrsLargeEmbodied · 03/09/2021 09:03

it is something they need to talk to you about rather than just write you a letter.
by the sound of things

Nietzschethehiker · 03/09/2021 09:05

I suspect consultants do things differently but DF recently had an MRI and the news wasn't good so they didn't tell him over the phone but phoned to make an appointment. It was only at the appointment that the consultant said they don't deliver that information over the phone given that is bad news.

However that is only one clinic I can speak for.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 03/09/2021 09:07

remember covid has put paid to many face to face appointments

BLACKTUESDAY1 · 03/09/2021 09:14

I work for a consultant who would never deliver bad news over the phone, covid or not.

They look 3 weeks to come back Initially and then had to go in for a further MRI as they wanted more areas done and that's been about 10 days now.

good luck

Betsybanshee · 03/09/2021 09:55

Good Luck Flowers
Surely anything really awful would be told via face to face.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 03/09/2021 10:21

When is your call?

If the MRI was 10 days ago, it seems unlikely it’d be anything urgent Flowers

riversmoothies · 03/09/2021 12:42

Call is Monday

It has but all of our bad news appointments have still been face-to-face even with covid and he has been encouraged to bring a support person.
tywysoges · 03/09/2021 13:51

Good luck OP Flowers

When I had bad news, I already had an appointment booked but the consultant’s secretary rang me asking me to go in the next day instead - so even if it’s not so good news, fingers crossed it’s not urgent bad news.

whichone343 · 06/09/2021 10:39

Hope all is okay today

riversmoothies · 07/09/2021 20:41
