Is she allergic to penecillin normally? I only ask because if she is then people who are allergic to this are often allergic to Ceflaxin as well?

The rash is probably due to that then (sometimes the allergy only shows up when enough of it has built up in their system) I wouldn't worry about the Piriton.

papaya · 01/12/2007 10:00

phew thank ladies, was panicking more to fact that i have just given her 2 medincines without checking their compatibility, thanks so much for your quick responses x

So you think she may have gotton the rash on her face from the cefalaxin? If you think she is having an allergic reaction to the cefalexin, I wouldn't give any more cefelaxin, you should speak to a doctor.

giving her piriton will be fine.

papaya · 01/12/2007 10:03

so grateful for mumsnet!!!

yeah, wont be giving her anymore, she only has a days left anyway, I will ring the docs monday morning tell them we didnt finish it and I will mention the rash as well. I just can't believe that other than A&E there is no one to help at times like this, other than mumsnet of course, good old faithful!

papaya - it is ridiculous, that there is no where official for you to go to for advice on a saturday, apart from A&E.

Did the piriton help?

papaya · 01/12/2007 10:12

the piriton has defintaley helped, loads in fact, as the rash was starting to appear on her back as well, the angry one on her face has almost gone and her back is clear again now
