Following on from my" I want rid of my Mirena" thread please come and talk to me about sterilisation.

I've googled but would like to hear some real experiences.

Have four DSs, have definately done, we are crap with contraception, DH doesn't want the snip [long story but I'm ok with this].

What happens to you hormonally after sterilisation? Are eggs still released? Where do they go?

Nothing changes hormonally. I ovulate as normal, have periods as normal, just without the risk of pregnancy!!

The eggs go the same way the would if you were not pregnant. They are so small it would take quite a few to cause a problem! and I think they then get re-absorbed. (Just had visions of me looking like a male seahorse...)

No worrying about contraception, so more fun and sponteneity (sp?)
