Help! Hi my baby is 6 months has had a temperature for two days that comes and goes, very fractious and is off his milk. occassionaly dribbles and is swapping his dummie frantically from side to side. He has no other physical obvious complaints - does anyone else recognise these symptoms as normal for teething?

sounds like my DD's teething syptoms. Is calpol /ibuprofen bringing the temperature down?

Yes probably teething but keep an eye on the temp - as far as I know temp might be slightly raised with teething but shouldn't go above (I think) 39 deg, so if it's above that it might be something else (e.g. a viral infection) rather than/ as well as teething.

Actually just checked NHS direct website and a fever is anything over 38 deg so I'd maybe call either the HV, your GP or NHS direct (0845 46 47) to check what they think, if temp is over that.
