Could this be the start of the menopause?

I started my period at 11 just like my mum. My mum went through the menopause at 43.

I am 41 now, and 2 years ago I had blood tests to check my hormone levels after a change in my cycle and all was normal and showed no signs of me being peri-menopausal.

Last few periods have been every 2 weeks and with barely any flow. I have also been having hot flushes just before bleeding starts, waves of intense nausea during period and strange and vivid dreams.

Can anyone shed any light? Have you had this, and what was it that caused it? My GP doesn't think it is the menopause given they are more regular and not less regular but I am going to get my hormone levels checked to see.

The Peri menopause stage CA last many years. Mine did it started with lighter flow every 25 days. Periods remained regular for a year, the I started to miss one or two. Then came the sudden overflow, the back to regular, every 2 was days but only very light and lasting 2 days.

I think it was 4 years of it before it stops completely.

@Frazzledmummy123 I’m very similar to where you were two years ago, 39, cycle shortened by up to 10 days some cycles and just had blood tests done. My mum was finished by 44 also, so my dr was happy to conclude I’m peri menopausal regardless of blood test results.

Very much sounds, with the recent changes to you cycle that you are x
