Anyone refused gallbladder removal?

If so why?

I'm talking to a surgeon tomorrow and really hope they agree to remove mine. I'm trying to work out what and what not to say. I don't want to mess this up.

I hope you dont have to wait long OP.

Another positive story here. About 6 months after giving birth I had my first attack but didnt realise what it was. The pain continued so 111 booked me for an appointment at the hospital outpatients. Turned out it was my gallbladder and they kept me in and removed it within a couple of days. It was couple of years ago now and the scars are barely noticeable. The recovery wasnt bad, just avoided lifting anything too heavy and not twisting or exercising for a while. I can still eat what I like and dont have any digestive issues. I hope it all goes well for you x

Glad you're on the waiting list OP.

A low fat diet is recommended to keep the attacks at bay but tbh I found the triggers random. For example I had one after eating a cheese sandwich so that sounds like a trigger given that cheese is high fat, yet pizza was always fineConfused

I've only had the op 2 days ago so too early to tell how effective it is, as I'm still recovering. My appetite isn't great yet and I'm generally a bit rough round the edges.
