Its a horrible stain, its right in between 2 of my front teeth. I have no idea how it got so bad, I brush well and dont really drink tea/coffee/ dont smoke...

not sure about the 'whitening' products out there, any other ways to get rid of stain rather than fork out at the dentist?

thanks (didnt know where to post this)

Definitely see the dentist with a large cheque book at the ready. Stuff you can buy over the counter in this country is not very effective and most of them are based on peroxide. Peroxide damages the enamel on your teeth and makes them pitted, so stains are even more likely, plus you get nasty sensitive teeth.

Do you see the dentist every 6 months and do you floss every day? I see a big difference between my teeth and those of my friends who don't go to the dentist/floss.

I hate spending money at the dentist but prevention is better than cure and it affects your confidence when you have a stain. Your gob is worth it (apologies to L'Oreal et al).

i would suggest going to make an appointment with a hygenist at your dentist practice for a good clean up! It usually takes 45 minutes and it will clear away those superficial stains.

Try the Colgate weekly clean toothpaste first. It costs about £4 and is the same cleaning paste that the hygienist uses for the buff and polish.

I had a nasty brown stain on both of my front teeth. Arm& Hammer Enamel Care toothpaste worked wonders for me! I would try this before any expensive cleaning/whitening kit.

thanks everyone, I will try some of these out...

I got rid of a stain by using an electric toothbrush and some whitening tooth paste. Was pleasantly surprised when it went, as I wasn't expecting it.
