Confused about how long after a filling I can eat / drink

I had my first filling this morning - it was one of those silver ones. My dentist said wait at least until the anaesthesia wears off (it finally has thank goodness!).

Now I’m not sure how long to wait until I can eat/ have a soft drink? Google says wait 24 hours, but my appointment unexpectantly got bought forward to earlier this morning so I’ve only had a bowl of rice krispies to eat all day - definitely regretting that choice of breakfast now.

As you might imagine I’m pretty ravenous (and hangry!!!), but also quite anxious bc I don’t want to actually do anything that might damage the filling if it hasn’t set yet. I don’t think I can trust myself to chew on only the other side of my mouth either.

Probably massively overthinking this Grin Sad I have a good appetite normally.

It will have set by now so just crack on. Probably stay clear of pork scratchings until tomorrow just in case.

Have soft foods (pudding, yogurt, smoothie, make some mashed spuds, whip them till creamy, add gravy for flavour if you prefer? When recovering from wisdom teeth removal my ds's tore bread into bite size pieces and put them in cream of mushroom soup and it helped feel less hungry. If you don't bite/ chew on the side with the filling, you and your filling will be fine.
