ds (12) was just stood talking to me in the kitchen one minute and went all funny, stumbled into the cupboard and droppped to the floor.

me, panicking asked him as he o.k and said yes went all wuzzy.

he did have a few dizzy spells about a month ago but nothing that put him off balance and he's always been one for a lot of headaches.

please help. what should i be doing?

Phone NHS Direct 0845 4647 I think, they'll advise you.

NHS Direct now

GPs on Monday even if NHS direct say nowt to worry about

Absolutely no googling 'child' & 'dizzy spells' cos you'll scare yourself silly. We all do it tho' don't we?

is he OK now?

southeastastra · 23/11/2007 21:09

lots of hormonal changes at this age. could have contributed but take him to the dr to make sure

cheeryface · 23/11/2007 21:22

have phoned doctor for advice now, been told to bring him to the out of hours place.

have had to get dh out of the pub (luckily he hadn't drank his pint yet) and he has taken him as i don't drive and have ds2 in bed.

really scared me that

they are back. doctor checked him over and couldn't find anything wrong. he said if it happened again then he should have tests, ecg's etc.

tbh i'm wondering whether i should just take him to my gp on monday anyway. what do you think?

OP posts:
moljam · 23/11/2007 22:49

thanx for asking doodle! it's actually ds2 who went to Dr Arkwright, who i thought was very good.
He said that they hadn't discovered anything new but thought he should be kept an eye on and has also done some more specific tests which we haven't heard back about yet.
he goes back to see him again in January.

i think the consultant he had the first time around was just a bit crap tbh and he should have been to doctor Arkwright then, 4 years ago!
