I think I have a haematoma on my uvula. I've zoomed in on the picture I took for you to see and give opinions. I'm not in any major pain, just discomfort as it's quite swollen and it feels like something is stuck in my throat when I swallow.
I'm wondering if this is a wait and watch situation, it's not effecting my breathing, I haven't tried to eat anything to be fair, but I can sip cold drinks, a possibly ask a pharmacist tomorrow, or a see someone shortly scenario?
It just came out of nowhere after a coughing fit. My throat felt weird so I looked and was quite shocked to see this!
I'm a little concerned that it will pop soon because it feels like there's lots of pressure there. My sensible brain says that will be fine, it'll lose the little collection of blood and be ok, and not be catastrophic. Am I right to be optimistic?
To avoid a drip feed I have complex PTSD relating to hospital trauma so I'd rather not go to hospital at the moment, especially as I'd have to go alone (covid) and I'm worried of what it will trigger off. We don't have an urgent care centre near me and quite frankly I'm not too sure if there is anything to be done here. What do you think? Has anyone had this before?
Thank you for reading! And I hope you're not too grossed out by my horrible throat.
