I am genuinly very scared having had a nasty experience 20 years ago-as student nurses we had to pass tubes down each others nose and throat so we would know how the patient felt !Since then i have been phobic of anything like this including being sick ?
can someone please promise me i wont be awake and feel it ?
Will i need to get undressed ?
My husband is working and wont be home until 12 tonight will i be ok ?I have the kids with me and eldest is 15 and they are good-but will the sedation knock me out or will i manage to stay awake until he gets home ?
Cheers x

I don't remember any of mine, but I was dozy for much of the day afterwards. Could anyone look after the kids for you just incase you feel like I did?
Good luck x

you shouldn;t drive yourself afterwards, the sedation can make you sleepy for a bit afterwards. highly likely you won;t remember anything of the procedure.

Hi

I have server allegies to anistetics (sp) and sedation. But I have had this done with very mild sedation I was wake, but rather spacy IYSWIM. But the sedation had completly worn off whilst they were still doing it.

You will totally fine, I am sure your memory of it is much worse. They will probably put you in a gown, wheel you around on a table. Make sure you tell them you are nervous. They normally keep you for a couple of hours after the procedure and make you eat something. It was sandwhiches when I had mine done. By the time I left I was completly awake and so was everyone else who had had it done! I think they recommend that you don't drive after the sedation but you will be fine.

It really is not that bad atall.

Good Luck and try to relax! xxx

You should be OK with the 15 year old with you, are you getting a cab home afterwards? Make sure your oldest knows she's in charge for a good few hours afterwards.

I was very drowsy afterwards - to be truthful I was very very slightly aware of what was going on but didn't feel any panic/pain.

I can't remember if I was undressed or not. Sorry. It'll be fine though, promise
